Wanting to get ahead, catch up, or just be ready for next school year? Studying for SAT or ACT? Let's have some fun. Hi! I am Akili Thrower. I have hosted over 2500 tutoring sessions. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Math and Chemistry and a Master's Degree in Teacher Leadership. I have mostly taught grades 1-12. I love helping students understand the subject that I love. I have taught and tutored in brick and mortar as well as online. Helping a student reach the aha moment is my goal. I find it rewarding when I help a student grasp the concept. My experience has taught me that every student learns differently. Consequently, I have adapted and learned how to break down topics in various ways so that each student understands. I have enjoyed the past four years tutoring with K12. When I am not teaching or tutoring, I spend time with my husband, two kids, and two cats. I look forward to having the opportunity to help your student have the aha moment and grasp concepts that may be confusing.

I have been a math teacher for over 20 years. I have been a tutor for over 30 years. I have mostly taught and tutored grades 1-12. I currently work at Indiana Digital Learning School teaching Algebra 1. I have proven success in helping students score well on state and national exams. Some of these exams include the SOL, STAAR, SAT, and ACT.
