Bio
My name is Alaina Greene. I’m a Fort Worth, Texas native. I went to Texas Tech and I’m currently a 4th and 5th grade teacher. My hobbies and interests include taking care of my two dogs, decorating my home, and finding a new craft to do every month. I chose to become a tutor because I wanted to extend myself outside of my community to help students gain confidence and enjoy learning as much as I do. I believe students learn best from a progressive philosophy which is student-centered, and the teacher is the facilitator. I love the gradual release model as an instructional strategy that revolves around the "I do, we do, you do" when teaching that allows a hands-on approach from the student. The Goals I aim to achieve through tutoring includes helping each student find enjoyment in learning difficult subjects. I hope to find academic growth in each student I tutor by helping them gain independence and confidence for any assignment, test, or homework they have.
Teacher Specialization
I am entering my third year of teaching with experience across all core subjects, including reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Science Education from Texas Tech University. I am ESL certified, and I am trained in the Science of Teaching Reading. My teaching experience includes second through fifth grade, along with a strong background in early childhood education.
