Bio

My name is Alexa Crenshaw. I have been in education for 7 years and was a classroom teacher for 3 years. My passion is to share my knowledge and inspire young children as they embark on their scholar road. I realize the importance of a loving, guiding hand that allows children to embrace learning and the excitement of achieving success. I want to encourage my students to strive independently, while knowing my guidance is always available. Motivation is the key to learning. I believe if a child is given a strong stable foundation, there is an excellent chance they will soar to achieve their goals.

Teacher Specialization

For the last 3 years, I have been a 2nd grade math and science classroom teacher. During my time as a 2nd grade teacher, I planned and implemented hundreds of assignments for my students. I collaborated with my team teachers when lesson planning. I developed relationships with my students, which I felt was integral in watching them grow in their academic success. Finally, I communicated with parents regularly to address student progress or concerns. I have also tutored a child with reading and math difficulties. During this time, I identified academic weaknesses and implemented remediation. I also strengthened the student's confidence and reading abilities. In 2018 I was a Pre-K teacher's assistant. During my time as a Pre-K teacher's assistant, I prepared activities for the students to complete, assisted the teacher with implementing lessons, and worked one-on-one with students to develop motor and emotional skills.
