Bio
Hi, I'm Alexis! I believe students learn best when they feel supported, encouraged, and actively involved in the learning process. My goal is to help students develop a lifelong love of learning by making sessions engaging, personalized, and confidence-building. I believe positive and meaningful relationships are the foundation of successful learning. I create a patient, welcoming environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating their progress. Some hobbies of mine include gardening, cooking, and painting. I've worked with kids of all ages for years and am a mother to a three-year-old as well. I chose to become a tutor because I love helping students reach their full academic potential.
Teacher Specialization
I've been working with children for over 17 years in daycare, school, substitute teaching, and online classroom settings. I have a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and am certified to teach both General Education and English as a Second Language. My teaching certification is for students from Pre-K to 6th grade, but I have worked with students up to 8th grade (both in-person and online).
