Bio
Hello, my name is Alisa Hernandez. I endeavor to meet each student's needs through an engaging and supportive teaching atmosphere. Using manipulatives and visual aids, along with technology, I strive to build student confidence and understanding. I have a passion for helping students of all ages succeed. I love to build rapport with students through games and meaningful and engaging conversation. I believe each student is unique and able to learn no matter their struggles or disabilities. I love to see the "light bulb" moments of my students.
Teacher Specialization
I have been teaching for 19 years in both the public and private sectors. I have a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, with a certification to teach Math grades 4-8. I have 2 years of experience teaching children online learning English as a second language and have privately tutored both online and in person throughout the years. When teaching in the public school, I taught Math to sixth and seventh grade. In the private sector, I have taught all grade levels and subjects.
