Bio
Hi Friends! I am Mrs. Whisner a 1st grade teacher at MOVA. Some fun facts about me: I have 3 silly kids (ages 8, 6 and 2). We also have a blue heeler puppy. He looks like Bluey on TV. My husband is an active-duty marine, so we move a lot. We've lived in California, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, South Carolina, Okinawa, Japan and Texas. I am a published children’s book author. I released My first book this past year called “Fight like a Girl.” In my free time I love reading, writing, playing outside with my kids and going to the beach.
Teacher Specialization
I graduated from Rowan University in 2013 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Writing Arts and a certification in Special Education. I taught Public School Kindergarten for 6 years before moving into Virtual Education. I taught English to students in China and Japan with the company VIPKid and then joined the Stride K12 family in 2023. I currently teach first grade at MOVA and am excited to continue my 7th year journey of online teaching :)
