Hi, I’m Amanda! My teaching philosophy centers on building confidence, curiosity, and strong foundational skills. I believe students learn best when they feel supported, challenged, and genuinely interested in what they’re learning. Whether I’m working with advanced learners, students who need targeted literacy support, or English language learners, I tailor instruction to meet each child’s unique needs and learning style. I’m known for being warm, patient, and highly engaging, while also holding high expectations!
Teacher Specialization
I am a licensed educator with 9 years of experience teaching and tutoring students from kindergarten through middle school. I have taught Kindergarten, 3rd grade, Elementary Gifted and Talented Reading, 6th grade Math/Science, and 6th grade Humanities. I hold a Master’s degree in ESL Education and a Reading Specialist Endorsement from Vanderbilt University and certifications in Elementary Education and English as a Second Language across multiple states. I specialize in online instruction and tutoring for elementary and middle school students across all core subjects, with particular expertise in literacy, reading comprehension, writing, and English language development. I have extensive experience teaching and tutoring in virtual environments.
