Bio
Hi! I’m Amber Gordon, and I believe that every student has a unique way of seeing the world. I’ve dedicated my career to working with students of varying abilities—from gifted learners to those with diverse learning needs. My goal is to ensure no student feels left behind by creating a supportive, inclusive environment where mistakes are simply part of the adventure. I love bringing learning to life using the latest educational technology. Whether we're using interactive whiteboards, gamified quizzes like Kahoot, or digital collaboration tools, I make sure every session is as engaging as it is effective. I don't just teach subjects; I help students build the confidence and "aha!" moments that make learning actually fun. Let’s work together to reach your full potential!
Teacher Specialization
With a Bachelor of Science in Education and a minor in English as a Second Language, I have worked with students from all over the world. As a veteran teacher, with 15 years of experience in the classroom, I understand how the brain works and how children learn differently. I have taught grades 1-5 in various school settings. I have also taught English as a Second Language to newcomers to the United States. During Covid, I was tossed into the world of online teaching to accommodate for student safety and well being. I learned how to teach virtually, alongside the students that were physically present in my classroom. I have training in UFLI and in early literacy. I also have experience with teaching kids that have different ways of learning; learning disabilities, ASD, dyslexia, to name a few. Kids are our most precious asset and being able to help them reach their full potential is my mission.
