Bio
Hello! My name is Amber, and I am a dedicated educator with 17 years of experience supporting learners of all grade levels and abilities in the K-12 curriculum. I firmly believe that all students can learn, regardless of the score reports or labels placed before them. Every learner brings unique strengths, backgrounds, and perspectives, and it is my job to help them uncover and build on those gifts. True learning starts with a strong foundation of trust, confidence, and open communication; not only between myself and the student, but with their families as well. Staying in direct, consistent contact with families is essential, as it allows me to provide timely, explicit feedback and ensure that we are working together toward meaningful growth.
Teacher Specialization
Throughout my career, I have taught as a Special Education teacher across Learning Support, Emotional Support, and Intellectual Disability programs. I currently hold a B.S. Ed in Special Education (K-12) and Early Childhood Education (PK-3). In 2017, I also acquired the TESOL Certification through VIPKID. I'm familiar with both regular curriculum and modified curriculums. My first 10 years were spent working with students in grades K–6, and for the past 7 years I’ve had the privilege of teaching students in grades 7–12. In addition to my classroom experience, I have spent the last decade working as an online ESL tutor, helping students from around the world strengthen their English skills.
