Bio
My name is Angela Stoddard. I have been in education for 27 years. . I like to read and travel. I love going to concerts and shows. I chose to become a tutor so I can help students achieve their dreams. I believe all students can learn by starting where they are and scaffolding as necessary. Each student is different and different strategies should be used when working with different types of learners. My goal is to help each student improve in the areas they are struggling in. One of my goals is to give them the confidence that they can learn. I love building relationships with my students. As a School Counselor I make relationships with the students at my school every day. When you have a relationship with them you can build on that to help them in the academic areas. Students won't learn from people they don't like.
Teacher Specialization
I am certified in the State of Florida to teach 1st - 6th grade in all subject areas. I am also a certified School Counselor. I have taught first, third, and fourth grade. I have worked with all elementary grade levels. I have been a District Reading Coach where I worked with the teachers at my school to help them find the best strategies of working with their students. I have also been a Writing Coach for my school where I taught teachers ways to better their skills at teaching writing and I was also responsible for teaching writing to all fourth graders at my school. I have worked with many different interventions in Reading and Math in my role as a teacher and a coach. . Last year I was awarded the District School Counselor of the Year award with the invitation to compete for the state School Counselor of the Year award as well.
