¡Hola! I am a language teacher (Spanish & English) from West Virginia who loves working one-on-one with students to personalize to their instructional needs. My philosophy of education is that all students can learn, even if traditional instructional methods don't seem to be working for them. The key is to find the methods that resonate with that individual student. I believe it is the teacher's responsibility to the child to help find ways around their challenges, not the child's responsibility to respond to teaching methods that don't work. I also believe that tutoring is an opportunity to develop learning strategies that can be used independently across settings to improve outcomes. Currently working as a tutor, I have seven years of classroom experience teaching in both public and private schools. Whatever the setting, I love teaching language and helping students make connections and identify patterns that "unlock" the content. I'm looking forward to working with you!

M.A. Secondary Education/Spanish + 15 graduate hours in Linguistics/ESL; Professional Teaching Certificate with Spanish endorsement (Pre-K to Adult); 7 years full-time high school teaching Spanish Levels 1A-4, with an emphasis on real-world application; Independent courses for Pre-K to elementary students taught in the local community include the following: Spanish thru Art (taught at local art center), Spanish Playschool (taught at a local yoga studio), Kids' College (taught at a local community college), and public library summer programming; 1 year of experience assisting adult ESL learners as a AmeriCorps volunteer; former English major with long-term sub endorsement in English/Language Arts in grades 5-12
