Bio
Hello, My name is Anthony Marasco and I am currently a 3rd grade teacher at a charter school in South Carolina. My teaching philosophy is geared towards the hands-on approach. I try to get students engaged in any activity or assignment as much as I can. One example that I always try to do is relate the subject or topic we are learning about to real world examples. To show the students how learning this skill can be applied to their lives. I currently hold a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in Elementary Education. I have been working in the classroom for the last 8 years, 3 as a paraprofessional and then the last 5 years as a full-time teacher. My teaching style is to first build a relationship with my students. I try to always form a relationship out of respect and an understanding that I want what is best for my students. My goal is for them to reach any goals that they have set for themselves.
Teacher Specialization
As a teacher aide/substitute I was teaching virtually during the COVID Pandemic. I was in charge of hosting classes online with several students at a time. This was a time where I was teaching at a school where students struggled with behavioral, social, and emotional problems. It was important to keep the students on task and engaged. After working as a teacher assistant at the therapeutic day school, I went on to do my student teaching in a 5th grade classroom. After completing my student teaching and receiving my license and degree I was hired to be an elementary school teacher in Illinois, where I worked for 2 years. After moving to South Carolina, I was hired as a 3rd grade teacher, and I am currently still employed teaching 3rd grade at the same school.
