Bio

Originally trained as a medical doctor, I began tutoring part-time while practicing medicine. In 2018, I made the decision to transition full-time into education, where my focus shifted to supporting young learners. My greatest joy is watching students blossom as they acquire new skills. I have lived in various parts of the United States, including big cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Detroit, as well as off the grid in rural Maine. Currently, I reside in Baltimore, Maryland, where I enjoy hiking, drawing, and singing in a local choir. My philosophy is rooted in the belief that students learn best when they feel truly heard and understood. I strive to meet students where they are, tailoring instruction to help them achieve their maximum potential. Building strong relationships with students is at the core of my teaching style. I am curious about students' personal interests and goals, both academically and beyond, and I highlight their strengths as we learn together.

Teacher Specialization

I have 3 years experience as a second-grade public school teacher and 5 years tutoring English and Math in grades 1-12, with 2 years of tutoring online. Most recently, I have been training in the Orton-Gillingham method of teaching reading to individuals with dyslexia. I also have training and experience working with English Language Learners.
