Hello, my name is Avery! As an educator and tutor, I believe that every student should have access to instruction that is personalized to their learning style, and differentiated to their needs. I also believe in the importance of regular feedback and student self-evaluation to help students see their growth and progress overtime. I am committed to helping students keep an open mind and working on a growth mindset in any subject. As a tutor, I aim to help build student confidence that they will be able to take back to the classroom with them. I believe that positive relationships are the foundation that learning can thrive on. It is important to me to be a positive mentor in any students life. I create this environment by bringing student interests and hobbies into the learning and content wherever possible, and making connections to real-world scenarios when appropriate.
Teacher Specialization
I am a licensed teacher who recently graduated with my degree in elementary education. I have a year of experience with high-impact literacy tutoring and a year of experience teaching 1st and 2nd grade. I am passionate about early literacy and the science of reading, and giving all students access to books!
