Bio
With an Instructional Technology approach, I bring a unique "research-first" approach to tutoring. I specialize in helping students navigate the complexities of College Applications, Scholarship Research, and Essay Writing. Having led my school’s transition to digital learning via Google Classroom and Meet, I am an expert at the virtual environment. I don't just teach the subject; I teach students how to use digital tools to stay organized and excel. Whether your student needs help mastering a platform or finding the right resources for a high-stakes paper, I provide the technical and academic support they need to succeed. My teaching philosophy is to show them how to become problem solvers through connecting learning with background knowledge, past experiences, student learning level, as well as student interest. Getting to know what students like and how they learn will allow them to embrace the process of learning through solving problems.
Teacher Specialization
I have a master's degree in Instructional Technology and a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I have been a Media Specialist for 7 years in grades K-8; I have served as Pre-K Coordinator for 3 years, and a Paraprofessional for 11 years in grades 3-5. I have worked in two public school districts. I have taught Saturday and Summer school for state testing prep for 5 years. I have been parent engagement coordinator for 7 years in Georgia schools.
