Bio
I believe every student is capable of learning when they are given the right support, patience, and encouragement. My teaching philosophy is centered on meeting students where they are and creating a learning environment where they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing from them. My goal as a tutor is to help students strengthen their academic skills while becoming more confident and independent learners. I believe meaningful relationships begin with getting to know each student as an individual and creating a space where they feel heard, respected, and supported. Building trust allows me to better understand how each student learns, what motivates them, and how I can help them succeed. I am a U.S. Navy veteran and UCF Elementary Education graduate who enjoys reading thrillers, spending time with my family, and finding creativity.
Teacher Specialization
My experience has primarily focused on elementary education, including hands-on experience in a fifth-grade classroom during my Internship II placement at UCP Bailes Community Academy. I planned and delivered lessons, managed classroom routines, graded assignments, monitored student progress, and communicated with families. Working in an inclusive K–8 school also gave me experience supporting students with different academic and learning needs. I worked with students who had IEPs, participated in the IEP process, adapted instruction, and provided individual and small-group support. My classroom experience included reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. Combined with my experience in student success coaching, these opportunities have strengthened my communication, problem-solving, classroom management, and ability to support students with different learning styles and needs.
