Bio
Hello! My name is Cara Lichty. I am an avid reader! I love movies, music and tv. I have a son with ASD so I understand the balance that neurodivergent people need in their learning and lives. I have 4 cats and a dog. My passion is helping others. I love teaching students new things and new skills. I teach special education and have for the past 11 years. I have taught in brick and mortar and virtually. My students are the future leaders, doctors, parents and workers. We need to invest in all they are and can learn. I believe every child can learn. We all learn differently and in our own time. I believe that learning a multisensory. Students need to be able to learn and showcase that learning in a variety of ways. I want all my students to feel safe and respected. I want them to know it is ok to make mistakes. I want my students to have fun while learning. My goal is help students progress and build skills for success in the classroom with confidence.
Teacher Specialization
This is my 12th year teaching. I have taught K-8 Special Education all those years. I was in brick and mortar for 10 1/2 years. I started teaching virtually in February of 2025. I have taught reading, writing and math small groups as well as whole group. My bachelor's degree is in Elementary Education with endorsements in Reading, Instructional Strategist I Mild/Moderate. I have my Master's of Education with Instructional Strategist II BD/LD emphasis. l have an endorsement in K-8 Language Arts as well. I also hold certifications in Orton Gillingham and Morphology, Youth Mental Health, and Interventions for Autism, Asperger's, Sensory and ADHD in Children and Adolescents.
