Bio
My name is Carla Bishop, I have a Master's degree in Special Education and I have been a Special Education teacher going on 6 years now. My teaching philosophy is centered around meeting students where they are, breaking challenging concepts into manageable steps, and helping them build both academic skills and confidence. I believe students learn best in a supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and trying again. I would describe my teaching personality as patient, encouraging, approachable, and understanding. I take the time to get to know each student and adjust my teaching approach to meet their individual learning needs. My goal is not only to help students understand the material, but to help them believe in themselves as learners.

I am currently an 8th grade Special Education teacher, providing virtual small-group instruction in English and Math. I have experience teaching students across multiple grade levels, including elementary, middle, and high school. Throughout my Special Education experience, I have worked with students with a variety of learning needs, including ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, and other learning disabilities. I specialize in breaking down challenging concepts, adapting instruction to meet individual learning needs, and providing students with the patience, encouragement, and support they need to succeed. My experience in both traditional and virtual learning environments allows me to create engaging, individualized instruction that helps students build both academic skills and confidence.
