Bio
I love sports and play on a USTA tennis league! I also own and operate a small farm with my husband where we cut, rake, and bail hay to feed our horses and cows. I absolutely love the outdoor farm life! I love to travel and have visited 48 states. Our country's national parks are my favorite places to explore. I enjoy hiking, fishing, and camping in the wild. My enthusiasm for the world around me spills over to my students and I awaken curiosity and interest in our environment. I believe every student has his or her own learning style and has the potential for success. I diligently search to find the method of presentation that matches each unique learner. I work to build and maintain friendly and positive relationships in which students are free to voice concerns and questions openly. My students eager to attempt problems without fear of criticism or failure.
Teacher Specialization
I received my training and bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University. I am certified and highly qualified in the state of Alabama. I recently retired from the traditional brick and mortar classroom with over 25 years in the classroom. I taught 6th grade math for 10 years and all core subjects in 4th, 5th, and 6th grade. Over the years, I have had experience and great success with typically developing students, as well as many students with various learning disabilities and challenges. I am anxiously beginning the next phase in my career by sharing my knowledge and experience in the classroom with students in a virtual education setting.
