Bio
Hi! I'm Charla, and I love helping students grow in both confidence and academic skills. I believe many students simply need the right support and encouragement for learning to really "click." My goal is to create a positive, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through challenges. Building strong relationships with my students is very important to me. When students feel supported and understood, they gain confidence, stay motivated, and begin to enjoy learning more. My hope is that every student leaves our sessions feeling more confident, capable, and proud of their progress!
Teacher Specialization
I have 21+ years of experience in elementary education, working with students in K-6th grade in classroom, intervention, and small-group settings. My focus has been helping students build strong foundations in reading, math, and core academic skills while developing confidence as learners. I have experience using differentiated instruction and targeted intervention strategies to support a wide range of learners. I am READ act certified and have extensive experience helping students strengthen literacy skills and close learning gaps. My specializations include reading intervention, tiered learning support, gifted and talented education, and working with students who have reading difficulties. I also have supported students in virtual learning environments, helping them stay engaged and successful while learning online.
