Bio
My beliefs are that every learner is uniquely different in the way they access learning. I focus on differentiation by utilizing what the learner knows, how they have been proven to access information the best. For example, if a student plays an instrument, they may connect better to the curriculum with lyrics altered to the tune of their favorite song. I believe that every student is capable of learning and value the learners' efforts, time, and educational goals. I aim to achieve students' confidence and success through learning that is both cooperative and engaging. I intend to build positive and meaningful relationships through maintaining an overall welcoming and encouraging demeanor. I strongly believe in a growth mindset and I will utilize this belief with every learner I have the privilege to tutor. I am a big enthusiast of literature. I love books, music, and love to create and care for my animals in my spare time.
Teacher Specialization
I have tutored and taught for 10 plus years. In between university semesters at Texas State University where I obtained my bachelor's in education, I would help facilitate instruction through tutoring services. I have taught in a public district for 8 years as well as tutored students in a range of subjects primarily focused in elementary education. I have taken several professional development courses that have helped prepare me to be a teacher as well as tutor.
