Bio

I believe all children can learn and that it is simply a matter of finding the right way to reach them academically. I expect the best from each of my students and want them to want the same for themselves. It is important to me to really get to know my students as people because I believe strongly that having interpersonal connections fosters learning. It will make me sound old (and really I started teaching at a young age) but I am still in weekly contact with a student I taught when he was 8 and he is now 35. I can't wait to meet your student and begin our learning journey together. Even from afar, I know that we will be able to make a great connection and really make strides in your child's learning. In my spare time, I train my 3 dogs and volunteer with grieving children and their families. I was awarded the 2022 Woman of Distinction Award in Education by my local Soroptimist Club for the work I have done with students where I live. I look forward to working with your student!

Teacher Specialization

I have taught PreK - 5th grade in public and private classroom settings. I also have experience running homeschool pods as well as helping older students with essays and language arts. Finally, I have experience working with students on their college applications. My undergraduate degree is from the University of Florida Journalism College and I also have my Master's in Elementary Education from UF.
