Howdy all, My name is Mr. Caffey and I am so excited to help you on this tutoring adventure. I believe students learn best when they are interested in the material and their teacher is infectious about their passion for it. I believe in providing positive feedback and keeping positive momentum in interactions. I want to help students make progress towards confidence in their abilities. I want students to have a intrinsic love of learning to motivate them. I believe students learn best from teachers that have shown a genuine interest in them. I genuinely listen and adapt to what my students show they need both explicit and implied. My wife is also a fellow educator, we share 4 children, ages 18, 16, 14, and 12, along with 2 dogs it makes for a full house, we love to go out into nature and take care of our chickens and pigs.
Teacher Specialization
I have been a science/history teacher for 10 years and an assistant principal for 2 more. I specialize with middle school science and history, having taught at multiple schools around Texas and I am currently teaching 8th Grade History at Texas Virtual Academy at Hallsville. I hold a bachelor's degree in Political Science with a Pre-Law Specialization and a Minor in Philosophy and am in pursuit of my Masters degree in Educational Administration. I am currently certified to teach all core subjects grades 4-8, Gifted and Talented, and Texas Teacher Certification.
