Bio
My name is Corryne. In real-life, I grow plants in the winterin my home for fun! For example, I have Blue Java Banana Trees in my dining room in the winter that go outside in the summer! Let me tell you about myself! I have a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Secondary Education. I have a Master of Science in Recreation with a Concentration in Management of Leisure Services. My Master's was about the fun side of learning and how to facilitate that better. I hope that you have fun when I am tutoring you. My teaching has spanned from Pre-School to Young Adult. I have worked at daycare, camps and in many circumstances. I work well with people individually and small groups, though I have taught classes over 30+ students as well! I taught asynchronously and synchronously during Covid for about two years. My specialization is bringing a lot of knowledge to the table and using it to help my students have succeed.
Teacher Specialization
My first year of teaching was as a special education math teacher. My second, third, and part of fourth year of teaching, I taught high school physics and chemistry to students in the inner city of Fort Worth. Most of these kids had undiagnosed disabilities and were struggling with more than one issue. I used what I had learned previously and added to it. I also was trained for the ELP’s tests, so I know how to analyze a writing sample for a student who is struggling with not just a possible disability, but also a language barrier, and figure out what level of understanding they are at. During that school year, I moved to Iowa. I taught eighth grade science for my fifth year. At the end of that year, I started this job tutoring in the fall. I fell in love with it because I set my own schedule for this job and have ample time to help my students who need individualized attention. This is my second school year tutoring for K12.
