Bio

Hello, I’m Courtney Baker. I believe every learner deserves joyful, inclusive learning experiences that honor their voice and ignite curiosity. My approach blends strong academic rigor with social‑emotional learning to create safe, supportive environments where learners can truly thrive. I design instruction that is relatable, grounded in individual interests, connected to real‑world experiences, and tailored to each learner’s unique strengths. Building meaningful relationships is central to my work—I lead with trust, encouragement, and genuine celebration of growth. My learners know I am committed to their success, standing beside them as they build confidence and develop a lifelong love of learning. Outside the classroom, I enjoy playing the clarinet and singing, and I bring that same creativity and joy into my teaching practice. Every learner deserves a champion. I would be honored to support you or your child on their educational journey. Let’s connect and begin this work together.

Teacher Specialization

I specialize in developing strong foundational reading skills, math fluency, and effective comprehension strategies for early and upper elementary learners. I am a certified Reading Specialist with an M.S. in Reading from Nova Southeastern University (2012) and hold a B.S. in Early Childhood Education with a Minor in Psychology from the University of Central Florida (2009). My professional credentials include a Reading Endorsement, ELL Certification, and certifications in Culturally Responsive Standards‑Based Teaching (Phases 1 & 2), Clinical Educator Training, and Common Core Black Belt. I have also completed recent Impact Trainings in ELA, Math, and Science to ensure my instructional practices remain current and research‑aligned. I am honored to be a dual Teacher of the Year recipient (2015, 2025), a recognition that reflects my commitment to excellence and to the learners and families I serve.
