Bio
My consistent belief is that aside from an educator being knowledgeable, we must be relatable and have an ability to build trust among stakeholders. I recognize that parents find comfort with teachers who have established open lines of communication, exhibit competence and proactive approaches. Students have a greater chance in engaging when the instructor has built trust and the students can approach the instructor with ease because an emotionally safe and supportive classroom has been established by the teacher. I have always created a learning environment that mimics the very one I would want my own children to be a part of.
Teacher Specialization
I am a certified teacher and a dual resident of Atlanta, GA and sunny South Florida. I grew up in Miami, Florida and moved to Atlanta in 2000. The bulk of my career was spent in Georgia. Speaking of my career, I have taught general education studies in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. I have also taught a general education Language Arts course of study in middle school. Additionally, I have experience with ESE in the areas of LD, ASD, EBD, and physical disabilities. My latter years in the field of education include instructional lead teacher for a turn around school, a literacy coach on the high school level and an elementary Assistant Principal for a few years. I am currently the owner/operator of Sowing Seeds Consulting, where I help families with educational support related to classroom, IEP, and 504 needs.
