Hello! I am Mrs. Barnes. My life goal is to continue to help students reach their academic potential through one-on-one or small group tutorials. Helping others is my passion and I believe all students are capable of academic success! All it takes is a little coaching and someone who believes in you. I am that coach. I will meet you where you are in your studies and help you demystify the subject of math. I whole-heartedly believe the words of the late, great educator, Rita Pierson, "Every student deserves a champion" and I want to be your champion!
Teacher Specialization
My teaching career began in the 8th grade math classroom. I also taught most math courses offered at the high school level. After completing my Master's Degree in Mathematics, I taught dual credit math courses, including College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Calculus I and Calculus II. I have experience teaching below-level, on-level and advanced students. I understand that students have unique learning styles; therefore, I tailor my tutorial sessions to match each student's needs.
