Bio
Greetings from Western NY! After moving around quite a bit as a military family, we recently moved to our permanent home two years ago. I am a devoted Buffalo Bills fans and hockey mom. I love to cook and crochet. Several of my projects have even won state fair ribbons. I spend my time with my family and my cats. I think it's important to always be open to trying new things and exploring new places! My belief is that every child has their own unique way of learning. Differentiating instruction means finding out what works best for the individual student. Together we will find the best solution or practice to help your student be successful. I pride myself on being compassionate, kind and understanding. When I am working with a student, they are the most important person in the room. I like to take large goals and break them down into smaller more manageable steps. Each progression, no matter how small, is a major victory!
Teacher Specialization
I have spent the last 17 years in NYS public education. I have taught at every level, including college. I also have over 5 years of experience working as a virtual instructor. The majority of my experience has been in middle and high school English/ELA. However, I have also worked extensively in Special Education in all grades. I have an undergraduate degree in Education and English from Niagara University. My master's degree is in Education and Literacy from Binghamton University. I also have additional graduate work hours from SUNY Plattsburgh in Special Education which allowed me to become certified in Special Education-All Grades.
