Bio
I believe everyone is a scientist! They just need the right questions and a safe space to explore them. I've been passionate about education for fifteen years, and there's nothing I love more than watching a student go from "I can't do this" to "Wait, I actually get this!" Here's how we'll work together: I meet you exactly where you are and break down tricky concepts into manageable pieces that make sense. We'll tackle challenges together, ask lots of "why" questions, and celebrate mistakes as part of the learning process. My goal isn't just helping you find the right answer. It's helping you explain why it's right and build the critical thinking skills you'll use long after our sessions end. Your learning style is unique, and we'll take time to discover what works best for you. I'm here to guide you, challenge you, and remind you that you're more capable than you think. When I'm not teaching, I manage the chaos of two kids, two corgis, and three cats.
Teacher Specialization
For the past nine years, I've taught high school science at a K12 Stride school, developing strong expertise in virtual instruction and online relationship-building. Prior to that, I worked with diverse traditional and non-traditional students in face-to-face settings. My master's degree in science education supports my work across life, physical, and earth sciences, where I emphasize inquiry-based learning and phenomena-driven instruction. I teach students to think like scientists, starting with observable phenomena and guiding them to ask "Why?" and "How?" rather than simply memorizing facts. This approach builds deeper understanding and genuine curiosity.
