Bio
I believe that each student learns differently and that each student deserves learning opportunities that meet their specific needs. Tutoring provides a unique time for tutor and student(s) to dive deeper into learning and reach a point of understanding! When I work with students, I always try to include fun and creativity! Learning shouldn't be boring! It is OK not to know something! That is why it is called LEARNING! In my experience, students learn best when they feel supported and tutoring allows for individualized learning that can make that happen! I am a mom of two boys who enjoys reading, spending time outside, and experiencing new adventures! I really enjoy tutoring because it allows me to help students reach their full potential and then celebrate their achievements together!
Teacher Specialization
I have a Bachelor of Science in Education with a focus in Special Education (Mild/moderate disabilities K-12) and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction (with a focus in Autism Spectrum Disorder). I have 9 years of teaching experience. I spent 5 years as an inclusion teacher for all subjects in 6th grade. I then moved on to teach grades K-3 in an alternative school for students with behavioral and learning disabilities. I also worked as reading specialist for an elementary school. My experience also includes providing extended year services to children with physical and mental disabilities. Most recently, I created math content videos for an online learning curriculum system.
