Bio
Hi! My name is Erin Anderson! My teaching philosophy centers around building confidence and creating positive relationships by getting to know students' interests and hobbies. Helping students feel safe taking academic risks helps students grow their brains - which is something you will hear me say a lot! I strive to make learning approachable, interactive, and encouraging so students can build strong foundations that support future success both in and out of the classroom.
Teacher Specialization
I’m a state certified K–8 teacher with a degree in Elementary and Special Education from Northern Arizona University. I’ve been teaching for over 10 years with the majority of that time being spent teaching online with a K12 elementary school! I absolutely love working with young learners online. The majority of my teaching experience is virtual teaching. I've taught online for 6 years as a 1st and 2nd grade teacher where I’ve created engaging and interactive online lessons for whole-groups, small groups, and 1:1 instruction that keep students learning, actively participating, and enjoying the process. Virtual teaching has helped me become very comfortable using digital tools and creative strategies to connect with learners from many different backgrounds and learning styles. I also tutor independently online.
