Bio
My philosophy is that anyone can learn if they can apply themselves. I teach to the student's level in a differentiated structure while simultaneously working towards the state standards which must be met or exceeded. I will provide meaningful, real-time feedback to students at various points during the lesson (i.e. after checking for understanding) and will compose a summary to reflect what was covered in the previous lesson at the beginning of the new lesson. My goal is to advance the student's confidence to tackle challenging problems and/or use the examples covered in the tutoring sessions as a reference to help them think critically when faced with a challenging problem. I will create a positive and meaningful relationship with students by informally checking in with students at the beginning of each lesson to ask about their week/day before diving into academic content. My hope is that over time, I will be able to learn more about the students' interest and build mutual trust.
