Bio
My name is Gregory Towne and I have been a teacher for many years. I am also dyslexic and have ADHD so I understand the struggles of the neurodivergent student because I was one. I don't consider myself learning disabled I say I have a superpower because I see the world differently than most other people. I have a unique ability to truly understand where my students are coming from because I was there myself and I struggled in school. I know there is more than one way to learn and understand complex mathematical and historical concepts so for the student who struggles I have many methods in my toolbox that I can pull out to help them. I am proof that having a severe learning disability is not a handicap and any student can go as far as they want with there education because I did it myself. I am not saying it was easy but it is possible with the right help and the right mindset.
Teacher Specialization
I have been in the classroom for 30 years and I have taught in many different types of schools from inner city schools, suburban schools, rural school and even online schools. During my career I have taught all levels of mathematics from 6th grade through calculus and I have also taught many levels of social studies. I have a bachelors degree in History with a minor in Mathematics and I also have a Masters degree in Mathematics. I am very good at teaching students complex concepts in a way that allows them to fully understand those concepts and the ability to apply those concepts outside of a classroom or tutoring situation. I do not say this lightly, I am very good at what I do.
