Bio
Hello there! My name is Iris Lopez and I am excited to be part of your tutoring journey. I view myself as a facilitator of your higher academic career. I push myself to individualize learning for students while also incorporating high level thinking skills, analyzing as a life skill, and metacognition. I have nine years of teaching experience as well as four years of tutoring experience ranging from kids all the way to adults. I have also taught English as a Second Language abroad for 3 years. I encourage all my students to go deeper into their ELA skills! During tutoring sessions, I will listen to your needs and expand on those through hands on activities, questioning skills, and expanding your comprehension skills.

I have five years of experience teaching middle school at Texas Online Preparatory School. I have been teaching English/ESL for a total of nine years. I have a B.A. in Anthropology. I also have in depth knowledge of: The writing process, creative writing, language and literature interpretation, poetry and analysis, figurative and literal language and its usages, developing higher level thinking skills such as observing, examining, questioning, analyzing, critiquing.
