Bio
Hello! My name is Jackie and I am so excited to help you grow in your learning journey! I am a certified classroom teacher, but decided to become a tutor so I could focus more on one-on-one and small group instruction to better meet the needs of my students. I love spending time outside, especially at the beach, and I like to spend my time inside doing crafts like crocheting. Building meaningful relationships with students is extremely important to me. I believe that having a supportive and inclusive learning environment is crucial for student success. My teaching approach is focused on creating a safe and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I am dedicated to student growth and academic excellence, however I also believe in the importance of working on non-academic goals such as critical thinking, creativity, and confidence. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!
Teacher Specialization
I have a degree in Elementary Education and English, and am certified to teach grades K-6 all subjects, as well as grades 5-8 English Language Arts. I have experience tutoring both virtually and in-person, as well as 5 years of formal classroom teaching. I have taught grades 1-3 and tutored grades K-6. While I am not officially certified to teach high school, I am confident with my English background that I can provide excellent tutoring services to students grades 9-12 in English Language Arts.
