Bio
My name is Jaya (pronounced Jay-uh). My teaching philosophy is to build relationships with my students, provide positive reinforcement, and help students feel more confident in their schoolwork. My goals are to see what students feel they need help with and how I can best teach the subject to make students understand the concepts better. I build relationships by having icebreakers and learning what the students enjoy outside of school.
Teacher Specialization
I have been teaching for the past four years. I am certified to teach grades K-8 in WA state and have my teaching specialization in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I can teach all of the core subjects. Additionally, I have experience teaching students with learning disabilities and highly capable students.
