Bio
Hello! My name is Ms. Jennifer and I am excited to meet you! I have 2 kids and a sweet grand dog named Dolly! In my free time, I enjoy taking walks, reading, and watching movies. I believe that all students have the ability to learn when they are given meaningful opportunities and the support they need to succeed. I understand the importance of differentiating instruction to meet each child's unique strengths, needs, and learning styles. I enjoy building positive relationships with students by learning about their interests, hobbies, and favorite books/games. I will provide positive feedback for students to help them build their confidence for future learning. It is important to build trusting relationships, so that the students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes so that they can continue to grow in their learning. At the end of the lesson, I will provide encouragement and praise for the student's hard work.
Teacher Specialization
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business from The University of North Texas. I continued my education at Southern Methodist University in the Teacher Education Program. I have a Teacher Certification in Texas for grades 1-8 with a specialization in reading. I also have a English as a Second Language Certification. I have been teaching for 26 years. I taught grades 3-5 in a general education classroom for 15 years. I have been working with English learners in grades K-5 for the past 11 years. Last year, I won Teacher of the Year at my school. I have a passion for teaching and am excited for the opportunity to tutor your student online!
