Bio
Hi! I’m an experienced English teacher with over 12 years in the classroom, and I’m passionate about helping students grow as readers and writers. I love watching students gain confidence as they discover their own voice through writing and connect deeply with the stories they read. Whether we’re analyzing literature, refining essays, or preparing for exams like the TSIA, SAT, or STAAR, I bring energy, patience, and creativity to every session. My favorite part of teaching English Language Arts is guiding students to see how words can shape ideas, inspire change, and express who they are. I’m excited to help you strengthen your reading, writing, and test-taking skills!
Teacher Specialization
With over a decade of experience teaching English Language Arts to grades 9–12, I specialize in developing students’ writing and critical reading skills across a range of genres and purposes. I have guided students in crafting effective essays—including personal narratives, argumentative, synthesis, rhetorical analysis, literary analysis, research, and college admissions essays—while fostering their confidence and voice as writers. My instruction also spans diverse literary and nonfiction genres, emphasizing comprehension, analysis, and engagement. Additionally, I have extensive experience preparing students for standardized assessments such as the STAAR, AP Language and Composition, TSIA, and the SAT reading and writing sections.
