Bio
To start, I am very excited to work with you and your student. My 3 sons and I reside in the small town of Sellersburg, Indiana with our dog Milo and our cat, Kevin. Being a boy mom has helped build my love for all things sports, all things outdoors, and learning to thrive in chaos! In terms of teaching, I am fortunate to have a job that I truly love. Over the course of my career, I’ve taught a wide range of English courses, giving me experience supporting students at every level—from those who need extra encouragement to those seeking advanced academic challenges. My teaching philosophy is centered on building strong relationships and creating a positive and safe learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, and learning from mistakes. All of my teaching experiences have shaped my belief that every student can succeed when they feel supported, challenged, and truly understood. Once again, I look forward to working with you during this process.
Teacher Specialization
I have extensive experience teaching English and Language Arts. I currently teach at Indiana Gateway Digital Academy. I have worked with students at all levels including regulars, honors, AP, Dual Credit, ELL- struggling language learners. I hold a bachelor;s degree in secondary education ELA from Indiana Univeristy. I am certified to teach 6-12 ELA, AP, and Dual credit. I also have experience in standardized test prep, essay writing, creative writing, and novels.
