Bio

Hello!. My name is Judy Peckumn and it is my pleasure to introduce myself to you! My main areas of work have been with students requiring extra supports and accommodations. I have received many awards for my work with students with exceptionalities ranging from teacher of the month to district awards for legal compliance. I find great pleasure and joy working with all students. My philosophy is that all students can learn. Some just learn in a different manner and at a different rate of speed. The joy on a students' face when a concept "clicks" for them is the best feeling ever. I also believe that if learning has a component of "fun" to it, all the better. Students learn better with a relaxed mind and, being able to relate what they are learning to the real world makes it that much more enjoyable. It would be a great honor for me to work with you on your learning journey.

Teacher Specialization

My teaching specialization is in special education working with all exceptionalities under the IDEA law. My college degrees are a Bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Science, a Master's degree in Public Administration, and a Master's degree in Educational Administration. Currently, I hold educational licensure in Special Education, Specialty Areas, and Education Administration. I have worked in education for over 28 years in a variety of grade levels and subjects. These include specific learning disabilities, ADHD, ADD, behavior and emotional disturbance, gifted, speech and language impaired, dyslexia, and life skills. I also teach various regular education courses such as social studies, science, language arts, and math. The grade levels I have worked with include all from kindergarten to 12th grade.
