Hi! My name is Jordan, and I'm excited to help you reach your learning goals! I believe learning should be engaging, meaningful, and fun. I love using high-interest texts, real-world connections, and interactive games to keep students motivated while building confidence and skills. Every child learns differently, and I enjoy creating a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, take risks, and celebrate their growth. I most often use a gradual release model-I do, we do, you do- to help model and encourage confidence in new skills. I can't wait to partner with you and make learning an enjoyable and rewarding experience!
Teacher Specialization
I have a Bachelors of Science Degree in University Studies and taught for the last 9 years. I have experience teaching 1st and 2nd grade in a traditional classroom and have spent the last five years teaching 2nd and 3rd grade Reading in a virtual setting. As a former K12 teacher, I understand the dedication and teamwork required for student success. I have firsthand experience working with students, families, and educators in the K12 environment and am well-versed in virtual learning programs and expectations. I am LETRS-trained, with a strong foundation in the science of reading and evidence-based literacy instruction. My greatest passion is helping students become confident readers while building the comprehension, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills they need to thrive. I also enjoy teaching effective test-taking strategies that empower students to approach state assessments with confidence.
