Bio
Greetings! My name is Kelly Sickles, I am a military spouse and Air Force veteran. My teaching approach is centered around breaking down skills and standards into smaller pieces so that students get positive reinforcement as they progress towards mastery. My goal is to foster self-empowerment and encourage students to be the owners of their learning. I want students to become comfortable with stretching themselves academically and to persevere through challenges. Tutoring sessions are a safe space to make mistakes!
Teacher Specialization
I am a Florida certified elementary and middle school teacher with endorsements in Reading and ESOL. I have a Bachelor's degree in History and I completed my teacher certification through the University of West Florida's TeacherReady Program. I have been teaching for 3 years, self contained 4th grade and my most recent position was a special education Resource Room teacher for Specific Learning Disabilities.
