Bio
Hi! I’m Kelsey, a certified elementary educator with 12+ years of experience teaching 3rd–5th grade math. I hold a Master’s in Education and a TESOL graduate certificate, which allows me to effectively support diverse learners and English language students. My teaching philosophy centers on building confidence, clarity, and strong foundational skills. I believe every child can succeed with structured support, high expectations, and encouragement. I focus on helping students understand how to think through problems rather than memorizing steps. I’m patient, organized, and supportive while maintaining clear goals for growth. I specialize in math intervention, homework support, and test preparation, and I love helping students who struggle with confidence develop both skill and independence.
Teacher Specialization
I have three years of virtual teaching experience across math, reading, science, social studies, writing, and phonics, maintaining strong engagement and communication in an online setting. My specialization is upper elementary math instruction and intervention for grades 3–6. With over 12 years in education, I have held a Math Certificate since 2016, earned a Master’s in Reading in 2024, and completed TESOL certification in 2025. I build strong number sense, problem-solving skills, and conceptual understanding in fractions, decimals, and early algebra, differentiating instruction to support diverse learners and English language learners while fostering confidence and long-term success.
