Bio
Hi! I’m Kendria Oglesby, but most of my students call me Ms. O—and you can too! I bring an energetic, encouraging approach to tutoring because I believe learning math should feel empowering, not intimidating. I believe everyone is a mathematician, just at different points in their journey. I break concepts down step-by-step and create a space where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes. My goal is to help students grow in both skill and confidence. I remind them that their only competition is who they were yesterday, and with consistency and effort, growth is inevitable. I build strong relationships by creating a supportive, positive environment where students feel capable, motivated, and successful.
Teacher Specialization
I have 11 years of experience in education, including 5 years of virtual teaching and tutoring experience. I have taught middle school mathematics, including 7th and 8th grade math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Geometry, in both classroom and online settings. I hold a Master’s degree in specializing in Mathematics Education from Middle Tennessee State University and am certified to teach in both Texas and Tennessee. My specializations include supporting students in building strong foundational skills, closing learning gaps, and developing confidence in math, as well as curriculum development through guided notes and leveled practice.
