Bio
Hello! I am a mom of 2 very active little boys. I like to read, bake, and spend time with my family. You can often find me listening to music or podcasts while I'm baking or cooking. I also love to play card games and board games!! I believe that a lot of learning can happen while playing games. I believe in meeting the child where they are at and respecting their needs while developing plans and goals with the student. My strengths are elementary literacy and math. I also like to use students' interests and hobbies to hook them into learning. Now, let's have some fun!! I look forward to working with you during your tutoring process.
Teacher Specialization
I taught for over 20 years in Washington State as an elementary classroom teacher. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Central Washington University. I earned my Master's degree from Heritage University with an emphasis in English Language Learners. Most of my students were English Language Learners, so I went back to school and earned an endorsement in ELL. I believe in meeting the child where they are academically, finding out what their interests are, and merging them.
