Bio

Hello! My name is Kim, and I’m excited to meet your child and begin a reading journey together. I am a passionate educator with a master’s in reading and over a decade of experience, helping students master essential reading skills such as phonics, phoneme recognition, blending, decoding, and fluency—all while making learning fun and engaging. I believe that building a strong, trusting relationship is key to learning, so I take the time to get to know each student’s strengths, interests, and goals. Using evidence-based strategies grounded in the Science of Reading, I personalize lessons with multisensory approaches, hands-on activities, and technology to make learning meaningful. I provide clear feedback to students and families, celebrating progress and guiding next steps. I look forward to partnering with you and your child to support growth and long-term reading success!

Teacher Specialization

I am a certified PreK–6th grade teacher with a degree in elementary education and a master’s in reading. I am trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach and the Science of Reading. I also hold UFLI certification, providing a strong foundation in evidence-based literacy instruction. For five years, I taught English language learners virtually, supporting students in developing speaking, reading, and writing skills. I focus on creating engaging, personalized learning experiences that nurture independence, build confidence, and foster a genuine love of learning. By combining research-based strategies with creativity and patience, I ensure every student makes meaningful progress while enjoying the journey of learning, helping them achieve both academic success and lifelong enthusiasm for literacy.
