Bio
Hello! My name is Kimberly Flowers, and I have a very strong passion for teaching and tutoring. When other educators ask me about my educational philosophy, I tell them what I have believed since 1991. That is, teaching and tutoring must come from the heart. Teaching is a continuous learning process for the teacher as well as for the scholar. I have learned so much from my students over the years. The one thing that I remember the most is that every approach has to be different. Education is truly my passion as well as my calling. My firmness, fairness, and fun way of teaching have awarded me the love that I am able to spread amongst all children. That's how I have managed to build so many relationships with my students throughout my 30-year tenure. I plan to meet each student where he or she is when it comes to learning. As a retired educator, I plan to continue strengthening the minds of children by taking them as far as I can through tutoring.
Teacher Specialization
I attended Auburn University at Montgomery and currently hold the following degrees: BA/English/Editing and Writing, BS/Elementary Education, BS/Middle School Math, M.Ed/Elementary Education, and Ed.S/Elementary Education. Throughout my tenure, I have worked as a math teacher in grades 6-8. Besides being a math teacher, I have taught all subjects in the elementary area. So, the last 34 years of my life have been dedicated to education, and I would not change anything about it. Education is truly my passion as well as my calling. I have taught and tutored online since 2020. My most memorable moments involve teaching reading and math to students located in India, the Dominican Republic, and Canada. I have learned so much from teaching and tutoring students all over the U.S. I hope that I will be able to continue this journey with all students that I come across. Although I have taught all subjects, my specialty is math. I have tutored students in grades K-9 in the area of mathematics.
