Bio
Hello! My name is Mrs. McCabe! I am from Ohio but moved to sunny Florida about 10 years ago. I live here with my husband, kids, and our family dog, Reese. When I am not teaching and tutoring, some of my favorite things to do are reading, kayaking, hiking, swimming, traveling, and visiting Disney. Prior to changing careers to education I was an Interior Designer. I love bringing creativity to the classroom. It is my goal to not just help you learn, but to help you enjoy learning and strive for more. My favorite thing to teach is history-any and all history. As a student I hated learning history because I didn't think it applied to me, but I found out in college when I had an amazing teacher that I actually love the study of history. I mean, how did I ever find every single thing that has ever happened on Earth, boring? I can't even imagine now. It became my goals as a teacher to make history and literature come alive for my students.
Teacher Specialization
I have been a teacher/tutor for 14 years both in Ohio and in Florida. I spent the first 10 years in brick and mortar and the last 4 have been spent in virtual. During that same length of time I have been a tutor both in person and virtually for 1:1 sessions or small groups. My favorite content to teach is history because I love making the past come alive for my students. My second favorite is English Language Arts-or ELA. I also have experience tutoring in elementary math and science as well.
