Bio
Hello! I’m an experienced educator with a background in both special education and elementary general education. I’m passionate about helping students build confidence, strengthen their academic skills, and develop a love of learning. My teaching philosophy is centered on meeting students where they are and creating individualized strategies to help them succeed. I believe every student learns differently, and I use patience, encouragement, and engaging instruction to make learning accessible and meaningful. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with students with a wide range of abilities and learning needs in both traditional and virtual settings. I would describe my teaching style as patient, compassionate, positive, and supportive. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them become confident, independent learners.
Teacher Specialization
My teaching specialization is K–8 academic support, with a focus on reading, writing, and math. I bring 14 years of experience in education, including 3 years of virtual education experience, and have taught students across K–12 grade levels. My background in special education includes teaching math and reading skills and supporting students with a wide range of learning needs and abilities. I hold a Master’s degree in Special Education and have extensive experience differentiating instruction, breaking challenging concepts into manageable steps, and providing individualized support. I also use assessment data to monitor progress and adjust instruction. My goal is to strengthen foundational skills while building confidence, independence, and a positive attitude toward learning.
