Bio
I believe students learn best when instruction is differentiated to meet their individual needs and delivered through visual, hands-on, and real-world strategies that make concepts accessible. I provide specific, ongoing feedback designed to build both skill and confidence, so students understand not just what they got right or wrong, but how to grow from it. My goals are to close skill gaps, accelerate growth where students are ready, and build the academic habits, critical thinking, and self-direction that support long-term success. I want each student to leave with a clearer understanding of the material, a stronger belief in their abilities, and the tools to advocate for themselves as learners. I am an elementary teacher currently home raising my 11-month-old son, with hopes of returning to the classroom. I am an avid reader and lifelong learner, happiest outdoors, and I tutor because I have always loved school and want to share that love of learning.
Teacher Specialization
I provide instruction in mathematics, reading, and writing for students in grades 1 through 6. I have seven years of teaching experience, including four years in the classroom, two years teaching virtually, and one year leading a hybrid student pod. I am certified in grades 1 through 6 and hold an SEL endorsement for emergent English learners. In math, I focus on place value, operations, fractions, and multi-step problem solving, with an emphasis on number sense. In literacy, I support comprehension, fluency, phonics, and vocabulary through guided reading. My writing instruction covers sentence structure, paragraph development, and narrative and opinion writing. For the past three years, I have tutored within my district, using benchmark testing to identify each student's needs and provide targeted intervention, including week-long, half-day sessions during school breaks. Each student receives a differentiated learning plan built around their individual needs and goals.
